Our Club and Our World
Rotary International https://www.rotary.org/ is is a global network of 1.2 million neighbors, friends, leaders, and problem-solvers who see a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change – across the globe, in our communities, and in ourselves.

Solving real problems takes real commitment and vision. For more than 110 years, Rotary's people of action have used their passion, energy, and intelligence to take action on sustainable projects. From literacy and peace to water and health, we are always working to better our world, and we stay committed to the end.

Rotary members believe that we have a shared responsibility to take action on our world’s most persistent issues. Our 35,000+ clubs work together to:

  • Promote peace
  • Fight disease
  • Provide clean water, sanitation, and hygiene
  • Save mothers and children
  • Support education
  • Grow local economies

For more than 110 years, Rotary members have been addressing challenges around the world.Grassroots at the core, Rotary links 1.2 million members to form an organization of international scope. It started with the vision of one man — Paul Harris. The Chicago attorney formed the Rotary Club of Chicago on 23 February 1905, so professionals with diverse backgrounds could exchange ideas, form meaningful, lifelong friendships, and give back to their communities. Rotary’s name came from the group’s early practice of rotating meetings among the offices of its members.

Auberry Intermountain Rotary has a 1 mile stretch of State Route 168 that we help take care of in the Cal Trans "Adopt a Highway" program. A couple times a year, we go out as a group, meet, set up a game plan, get our lovely yellow vests and hard hats and head up the hill. We pick up litter along the safe areas of 168 and fill the bags supplied by Cal Trans. Our stretch of the road is one of the cleanest but summer and winter seasonal travel gives us plenty to do. After our morning of cleaning the roadside, we meet for breakfast. As we all know.....you have to take care of the appetite you work up!
Auberry Intermountain Rotary partners with other community organizations to serve larger events and causes. The Winter Special Olympics are held at China Peak Ski Resort each year. The Olympians head up the hill early in the morning needing nourishment and fuel to participate in their events. Waiting for them, mid mountain at the Shaver Lake Community Center, is a hearty breakfast put on by Auberry Intermountain Rotary and many other community organizations and volunteers. None of this would be possible without the efforts of our donors and volunteers. The Olympians show their appreciation with hugs and thank-you's and leave with a full stomach and energy for the Olympic events ahead.
Promoting peace throughout the world is one of the main objectives of Rotary International. Each club is tasked with sharing the promotion of peace within their communities they serve. Auberry Intermountain Rotary created a Peace Pole for a Peace Garden at the Intermountain Nursery in Auberry, California. The Peace Garden provides a restful atmosphere in a serene setting. At the center of the peace garden is a pole inscribed in four languages with the message "May Peace Prevail On Earth". The Peace Pole was planted at the annual Harvest Festival in Auberry.
